Friends of Creamer's Field is seeking a motivated person to fill our Executive Director position. 
Executive Director Job Description
Role: The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for leading the overall strategic direction and operation of     Friends of Creamer's Field. The ED oversees all staff, programs and expansion, and ensures     alignment with Friends of Creamer's Field's mission. Friends of Creamer's Field was formed in     1990 and is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Our Mission is "Inspiring environmental stewardship and lifelong learning through     experience, awareness and appreciation of the natural and historical resources of     Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge." The ED will make consistent and timely progress to execute the board’s strategic plan of long and     short-term goals. The ED will be expected to develop deep knowledge of Friends of Creamer's     Field's core programs, operations, and business plans. • Demonstrate passion for the Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. • Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of     Directors and staff. Carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board. • Passion for identifying and using appropriate technology to collect and use data when making     business decisions. • Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in the organization's work. • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local     regulations in a timely manner. • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in environmental and     outdoor education. Responsibilities: Donor Development, Fundraising & Communications (50) • Develop relationships with donors and expand existing donor network. Create new opportunities     and new partnerships with individuals, businesses and community organizations. • Cultivate Friends of Creamer's Field revenue generating and fundraising activities to support     existing and expanding operations. Write funding proposals to increase the funds of the     organization. • Work with staff and the Board to prepare the annual budget. • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and public relations strategy to create a     strong Friends of Creamer's Field brand. • Serve as the premier public representative of Friends of Creamer’s Field to supporting     organizations and donors. Communicate the work and mission to agencies, businesses, the     public, and supporters. Growth & Development (20) • Design Friends of Creamer's Field expansion and complete the business planning process. • Develop strategies and tactics in the areas of Finance, Revenue, Communications and     Marketing to achieve Friends of Creamer's Field expansion goals along with recommended     time lines and resources required to accomplish them. Leadership & Management (30) • Ensure program excellence, program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance administration,     fundraising, and communications. • Recruit, hire and train paid and volunteer staff. • Execute performance plan and evaluate all Friends of Creamer's Field paid employees to     encourage growth in their knowledge, skills and abilities. • Utilize sound human resource practices ensuring staff recruitment and retention processes are in     place for paid and volunteer staff. • Assist staff in meeting strategic initiatives. Support staff in executing fundraising and marketing     efforts. • Engage and energize Friends of Creamer's Field board members, event committees, volunteers,     partners and funders. • Assist in developing, maintaining and supporting a strong Board of Directors. Seek and build     board involvement with strategic direction for ongoing local operations and initiatives. Qualifications: • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing, or related field with well-     rounded professional experience. Track record of assuming increased responsibility within local     and/or regional nonprofit organizations. • Preferred: 3 years of senior management experience • Mastery of Bloomerang, Quick Books, and other appropriate software and social media. • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to manage and develop high     performance teams. • Set and achieve strategic objectives and manage a $200,000 budget. • Strong marketing and public relations experience. Persuasive and passionate, mission-driven     and self-directed. • Demonstrated ability of fundraising for a nonprofit organization, especially with direct person-to-     person or person-to-organization contact. • Current Driver's license and use of personal vehicle to attend meeting and errands mileage     reimbursed). Working Conditions: • Perform tasks while sitting, standing and walking. • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. • Required to work with the public including public speaking for audiences of several hundred. • Must determine and manage multiple priorities. • Travel as needed to support specific events and fundraising efforts. • Some weekend, holiday and/or evening work hours required. Salary Range: $37,500 -$45,000 depending on experience.
